The Regional Mycology Laboratory Manchester (RMLM) can provide the following services:

Investigation of mouldy houses and hospitals

Identification of all medically important yeasts and moulds

Susceptibility testing on all yeasts and moulds

Monitoring of body fluids for antifungal drugs

Susceptibility testing of novel antifungal drugs

The Laboratory can now provide the following new tests:

Surveillance of hospital environments for Aspergillus species

Aspergillus galactomannan antigen ELISA

Agar gel double diffusion for Aspergillus precipitins

Cryptococcal antigen latex agglutination test

Culture and identification of dermatophytes and non-dermatophytes from skin, nail and hair
